About Post 7721

Post 7721 History

Rooted in a national tradition of service that began in 1899, Golden Gate Post 7721 carries the VFW mission forward in Collier County. From its organization in 1971 to its national charter in 1976, the Post has grown around a simple promise: stand with veterans, strengthen families, and serve the community with fellowship and patriotism.

Our beginning

Golden Gate VFW Post 7721 was organized in Naples on December 16, 1971. On November 25, 1976, it received its national charter, formally connecting the Post to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Since then, it has served veterans of overseas conflicts by building comradeship, assisting veterans and their families, and keeping patriotism at the heart of local service.

Milestones

Around 2014, the Post’s active Men’s Auxiliary expanded its service and fellowship. Monthly meetings, dinners, and holiday fundraisers made the Post a dependable gathering place. Members have supported the Collier County Honor Flight, hosted Purple Heart ceremonies, and chartered Cub Scout Pack 7721. Today, they also support plans for a state veterans’ long-term-care community and nursing home at the former Golden Gate Golf Course property.
