This will be my last newsletter as your Post Commander. The year has gone by quickly and it has been an honor and privilege to serve you and the Post this past year. I look forward to serving all the Posts in our area as the District 13 Commander this year.
I asked that you support the new commander and staff as you supported me this past year.
Our Post has assumed a major leadership role in District 13. Besides myself as District Commander, JB Holmes was elected as District Junior Vice Commander, Ralph Balzarano was elected District Quartermaster, Mike Knutson was elected as District Chaplain, and Jim Burch was elected as District Surgeon on May 18th at the District meeting. We will set the standard for other Posts in the District to follow this upcoming year.
For the 4th time in 5 years our Post has been recognized by the Department of Florida as an “All State” Post. This honor is truly a team honor and I thank everyone for the hard work that made this award possible. Let’s continue to work towards “All State” again this upcoming year and strive to make 7721 a “All American” Post at the national level.
Congratulations to the Auxiliary for achieving their equivalent of “All State.” The Post could not operate as we do without the support of the Auxiliary.
I will close with this: we are here as veterans to take care of each other; we are here to take care of and support the veterans and their families in our community; we are here to ensure that the memory of those who have given their lives in the defense of freedom are not forgotten; and to support our community.
Again, many thanks to all the members of our Post for the hard work, support, and friend-ship over the past year.
Yours in Comradeship,
